Apple launched its new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus on Sept. 25, which introduced the new 3D touch feature, and added a new color to the collection of iPhones.
“The new iPhone is another product that people are going to want to get their hands on as soon as possible, like all the past years,” Maygua Zavala ‘16 said.
The new generation of iPhones have the same design as last year’s iPhone 6, with a new color, rose gold. The new 3D touch feature senses how much pressure is applied to the phone when someone is wanting to open something. Along with 3D touch, another feature called Peek and Pop allows people to have a sneak peek of their emails, text messages, website links, and more without having to open the app completely. It works by touching the screen lightly, allowing people to see a link or email without having to leave the screen they are on.
“I find it fascinating how technology is growing, like on the iPhone 6s the new 3D touch Is something that I haven’t seen before, ” Michelle Roland ’16 said.
Apple has a new iPhone upgrade program that includes getting the latest iPhone every year and AppleCare+ coverage. The coverage works when the screen gets damaged, any liquid, software, or hardware damage, or when support is needed. The program does require monthly payments until the phone is fully paid, but it will allow people two years to do so. Verizon Wireless, Sprint, AT&T, and T-mobile will have the iPhone 6s available for purchase.
